While the vast majority of the photos we during during our honeymoon were of food, we did manage to sneak in a few pics by the lake while we were there. I had dabbled in Instagram before, but there were so many amazing sites I wanted to capture that I formed a minor addiction during our vacation. We had to declare dinner a no-phone zone to prevent me from documenting every dish. Aside from my meals, some of my favorite snapshots were from an infinity pool on top of a cliff and a floating temple on the water. You can check them out @nataliegoel.

Looking at travel pics can be tough because once you’ve seen a bunch of images of waterfalls and scenic sites, it’s hard to distinguish the good from the really stunning stuff. I don’t claim to be an expert on Maui (far from it — I’ve only visited once!), but I do have some definite favorites from our recent trip. Here’s my mini guide in case anyone’s planning to visit:

  • Venus Pool on the Road to Hana. Tall cliffs on one side, ocean on the other. My favorite stop during our entire stay.
  • The itty bitty red sand beach on the southern end of Hana Bay. It feels sort of secret.
  • Haleaka – where the last photo (above) was taken. Go at sunrise or sunset.
  • Snorkeling at Black Rock. You can swim with sea turtles!

Anyway, I wore this dress a handful of times while I was there.

…is a lame saying. I was lucky enough to go to Hawaii and Tahoe back-to-back weekends, and it was doubly awesome. Also, I’m working on polishing off the second box of mint ice cream cookie sandwiches and it’s shaping up to be every bite as good as the first.

Back from Maui! It was unreal. So much so that I kept having to touch the plants to make sure they weren’t plastic. A highlight of the trip was snorkeling, (no surprise there). I saw a million different types of fish and had an awesome time until a fellow snorkeler yelled out, “did you see the huge eel?” My cue to get the heck out of there. No thanks. That was the only time I preferred the fake Disney World variety.
