Lately I tend to like subtle tones. And then there is this crazy gold metallic skirt in my closet and I LOVE it. So shiny. So whoosh-y! So practical. Yeah okay, not so much. But shiny and whoosh-y, yes.

The combination of gold silky fabric and pleats is magic. I always notice a lot of this duo around the holiday season. (Also, oh my god, how is it almost holiday season?) Like this number, for instance. Liquid gold!

  1. I’ve seen you wear the Everlane silk shirt several times. I was wondering if you can tell me how badly this shirt wrinkles, how sheer it is, and if it’s ivory or white. I’ve been trying to find a really great white shirt for a staple wardrobe piece. My perfect white shirt would be thick enough that I don’t have to wear a cami underneath, launders well, doesn’t look like an unmade bed five minutes after you put it on, is a bright white, and is classic in cut. Of course, it would be fabulous if it was affordable as well :-). I know, I have a near impossible list of requirements, but that’s why I haven’t found my holy grail white shirt yet. Lol. I have a great white cotton shirt from Gap but it wrinkles HORRIBLY leaving me looking messy instead of classy and polished. Any suggestions?

  2. Hi Kim — I’m a fan of the Everlane white shirt, although it doesn’t completely meet your requirements. It’s silk so wrinkles relatively easily, the white color is a bit sheer, and it’s white, (not ivory). If you wear it to work you’d need a cami but otherwise it’s probably okay, depending on what you’re comfortable with. Equipment is also a good brand to try, although you’ll have to wait for it to go on sale to be affordable. I also like J. Crew button downs!
